Did you know it’s illegal not to compost in places

Did you know it’s illegal not to compost in places like California, Vermont, and New York City?
Across Europe, countries like Austria, Germany, and the Netherlands also require it by law.

I think it should be required everywhere!
Most people (myself included for a long time!) don’t realize just how important composting is. When food waste ends up in landfills, it releases methane, a greenhouse gas over 25x more potent than CO₂. 💨 Composting prevents that and turns your scraps into nutrient-rich soil instead of toxic waste. 🌱

Living in cities, I always thought composting required a backyard… but that’s not true. You can compost in small spaces, even indoors, and some cities give out bins for free!

I recently picked one up from the local council and I’m so excited to finally make the most of it 🤗

Hugging gentle cows, scratching a bull’s neck as he purred, holding a soft little chicken who reminded me of my soul-dog…
I was overwhelmed with emotion.

These animals are survivors.
Many were rescued from factory farms, neglect, and abuse.
Now they live in peace, but trillions just like them still suffer every year…

I left with a heart full of love, and a fire to keep going.
To keep making kind choices.
To keep advocating for them.
And one day, to open a sanctuary of my own.

Ever since I can remember, I’ve loved animals and felt deeply connected to nature. I was lucky to grow up surrounded by its beauty and dreamt of the day I could give a dog a loving home.

At 10, I met a pig, and everything changed.
I saw a being just as lovable as a dog, and I knew I couldn’t eat someone I wanted to protect.

When I was 13, I finally met my dog, Lili. She became my whole world. 💖
A few years later, I learned the truth about animal industries. I couldn’t unsee it.
I chose to live a vegan lifestyle because it aligned with the love and compassion I had always felt.
I connected all the dots, and that formed a circle. Loving animals means loving all animals. 💞

We are all connected. We are animals too.

This lifestyle has brought me closer to that connection in the most meaningful way.

👧🏻 Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved playing around with makeup and hair products. That passion grew over time, and I became a makeup enthusiast—always eager to try every trending beauty product I could find. 💄
I loved the glamour, the creativity, and the self-expression of it all. So much so, I decided to write my Bachelor’s thesis on the cosmetic industry… but with a twist. 🌪️

By then, I had become deeply curious (and concerned) about sustainability 🌎. I wanted to uncover the truth behind cosmetics, even if it meant making something I loved ugly.

Over the course of a year of researching and writing, my perspective changed. I see the industry as beautiful, but damaged. I still love the cosmetic world; it’s a huge part of how I express myself 🎨 , but now I know what to look out for 👀. I put my money where my mind and values are: supporting sustainable products that do no harm (to innocent animals, my body, and our precious planet) and actually enhance beauty. ✨

I still try trending products, but only when they’ve earned it. 😉 🌱✅

This post is a simple breakdown of what I’ve learned and what I now look for in sustainable beauty.

Natural really is better! 🌿

I recently realized that a lot of the clothes I was wearing—especially my leggings, loungewear, and undies—were basically made of plastic. Polyester, nylon, microfibers… all synthetic, all contributing to microplastic pollution, and weren’t letting my skin breathe. 😞

So when I saw that @pact was having one of their biggest Earth Day sales, I jumped on it! I made a big order to start replacing those tight, plastic-based basics with pieces made from organic cotton. ✨

And honestly? I love what I got. These pieces are so comfy, breathable, and flattering—and they’re staples I’ll wear for years. Investing in quality really does give you a better quality of life. 💫

My first zero waste store experience was actually in Barcelona and ever since, I’ve been hooked. Think of these stores like candy shops… but for sustainable living! You get to fill up just what you need, see how much you’re spending, and explore so many fun, non-toxic, more healthy goodies.💚

Everything I grabbed in this video cost around $1 per bag—and even the Chlorella (in a $3 jar) felt like a steal. Next time, I’ll be bringing my own glass jars and containers like a pro! 🫙
